Coach Javi

Senior Coach & Assistant Program Director

Coach Javi has been working with children for the last ten years, both in and outside of the classroom as a sports educator and behavioral therapist.

He grew up in Boyle Heights – a predominantly Latino community – and graduated from Cal State LA with a BA in Mexican American History.

Coach Javi has always been passionate about sports – playing soccer and baseball throughout his childhood and into his teenage years, which sparked an ambition to pass on his passion and inspire future generations.

Over the last decade, Javi has worked for numerous educators and organizations including LAUSD and Glendale Unified –  coaching sports to elementary students, mentoring and tutoring middle-school kids and implementing programs for children with special needs.

Coach Javi says, “My goal is to be a positive influence on youth because they are our future.

“We underestimate the roles and impact we have on children with a simple interaction over time and I look forward to being a positive role model for our Mini Bouncers.”

A keen baseball and weight-lifting enthusiast, Coach Javi spends his spare time on the field or at the gym and when he’s not working out, he loves spending time with his family.
